Kolik kouřových komínů je v okolí? Jaký kouř z komínů letí? Jeho barva? What is its smell? Often we ask ourselves about the influence of individual emitters (e.g., chimneys on buildings and houses heated by coal or wood) on air quality in their immediate surroundings, in our living, learning or working environment. Air quality measurement points carried out by the Main Inspectorate for Environmental Protection within the framework of the National Environmental Monitoring (NMM) are located in accordance with the relevant regulations. However, this spatial resolution does not often provide us with access to information on sanitary conditions in our municipality, so we look for other sources of data. Internet portals and mobile applications allow us to check the air quality at any point. However, we must answer the question what these data are and where they come from, whether they are measurement data (from the national network or one operating based on low-cost sensors), or whether they originate from mathematical models.
